Adulthood often carries the accumulated traces of the years: poor working postures, chronic stress, old forgotten injuries, sedentary habits. Osteopathy offers a complete approach to restore balance and head off chronic pain before it sets in.

The most common reasons for consultation

Adults most often come in for:

  • Back pain, lower back, neck, between the shoulder blades
  • Headaches and migraines, often linked to cervical tension
  • Digestive issues, bloating, reflux, chronic constipation
  • Fatigue and stress, the body carries stress long after the event
  • Sleep disturbance, trouble falling asleep, night waking
  • Post-trauma follow-up, after an accident, surgery or sprain

Preventive as well as curative

Osteopathy isn't only for those in acute pain. A preventive session every 3 to 6 months lets us:

  • Detect and treat mobility restrictions before they become painful
  • Maintain good posture despite the demands of work
  • Support the immune system and autonomic nervous system
  • Improve sleep quality and lower stress

What happens in an adult session

The first consultation lasts about 45 to 60 minutes. It starts with a thorough discussion of your history, lifestyle and current pain. Then comes the clinical examination, standing, then lying down, to assess your posture and identify restricted areas.

Treatment is then tailored to what you need that day. It can combine:

  • Gentle joint mobilisation
  • Myofascial techniques
  • Craniosacral osteopathy
  • Dry needling or cupping if indicated

What to expect

Most patients feel an improvement after the first session. Some mild fatigue or soreness within 24 to 48 hours is normal, a sign that the body is integrating the treatment.
