CONSULTATION

An osteopathic consultation is a session during which an osteopath evaluates the health of his patient and treats his pain or mobility problems. It begins with an interview to understand the medical history and current complaints of the patient. Next, the osteopath examines areas of the body that show tension, pain, or movement restrictions, using their hands to diagnose imbalances and dysfunctions. He then uses a variety of manual techniques to address these issues, such as gentle stretching, massage, joint manipulation, etc. The osteopathic consultation generally lasts about 45 minutes. The goal of the consultation is to relieve pain, improve mobility and optimize the patient's overall health.
