Frequently asked questions
How does a first consultation unfold?+
The first session lasts around 45 minutes. It starts with a discussion of your history, your reason for coming and your lifestyle, then a clinical examination (posture, mobility), and ends with treatment tailored to your needs.
How long does a session last?+
About 45 minutes for osteopathy. Massages and lymphatic drainage sessions last 60 to 90 minutes depending on the format chosen.
What are the prices?+
Prices are listed on the Pricing page. Payment is made at the end of the consultation in cash, via Revolut or by bank transfer. Credit card payments are not accepted.
What should I bring?+
Any recent X-rays, MRIs or medical reports if you have them. Comfortable or sportswear to allow free movement. That's all.
Should I eat before the session?+
Yes, don't come on an empty stomach. A light meal 1-2 hours before is ideal. Stay hydrated before and after the session.
What's the difference between osteopathy and physiotherapy?+
Physiotherapists primarily work on targeted rehabilitation (post-op, muscle strengthening). Osteopaths aim for the body's overall balance with gentle manual techniques. The two are complementary, not competing.
How should I dress?+
Sportswear is recommended: it allows full range of motion without restriction from clothing. Much easier to work effectively that way.
Does it hurt?+
No. Techniques are gentle and adapted to each patient. Some manipulations may feel surprising but aren't painful. I always adjust to your tolerance threshold.
Will I have to undress?+
Sportswear is recommended to allow free movement. Contact is mostly directly on the skin for effectiveness, but your comfort remains the priority. A sheet can be provided if needed, just let me know.
Can someone come with me?+
Yes, especially for pediatric consultations (parent presence is mandatory for minors) or if you'd like a family member with you. The space remains private.
What if I feel uncomfortable during the session?+
Tell me immediately. I'll adjust without issue. Your comfort comes first: pain is never necessary for the treatment to work.
What sensations are normal after a session?+
Mild fatigue, slight soreness or sensitive areas for 24 to 48 hours: this is normal and a sign that the body is integrating the work. Stay hydrated, avoid intense activity, and rest.
Can I play sports after a session?+
Avoid intense effort for 24 to 48 hours. Walking, gentle yoga and stretching are fine. Normal training resumes progressively.
When will I feel the effects?+
Often immediately after the session, sometimes 2 to 3 days later (the time your body needs to adapt). Effects consolidate over the following weeks.
Why do follow-up sessions matter?+
A single session provides relief. Regular follow-up transforms. The body needs time to reintegrate its balance, and 2 to 3 spaced sessions help consolidate the results and prevent relapse. This is especially important for chronic pain, athletes, and post-surgery recovery.
How often should I consult?+
For a recent pain, 1 to 3 sessions are often enough. For preventive care: one session every 3 to 6 months. More regular follow-up may be needed for chronic conditions.
Can I come during pregnancy?+
Yes, at any stage. Techniques are adjusted to the trimester and your condition. Osteopathy eases lower back and pelvic pain and helps prepare the pelvis for birth.
From what age can I bring a baby?+
From the very first days of life. Techniques used are extremely gentle (comparable to the weight of a small coin). Common reasons: colic, sleep issues, congenital torticollis, plagiocephaly.
I do crossfit, running or intense yoga. Can osteopathy help?+
Yes. I work with many amateur and elite athletes to prevent injury, speed up recovery, and optimize performance. Sports coaching is available as a complement.
My child has congenital torticollis or plagiocephaly. Can osteopathy help?+
Yes, it's a common indication. Techniques are extremely gentle. Early intervention (before 6 months) gives the best results. 1 to 3 sessions are usually enough.
I'm a senior, is osteopathy suitable?+
Absolutely. I adapt techniques to your age and condition. Common indications: arthritis, stiffness, balance issues, recovery after falls or surgery.
Are there any contraindications?+
Absolute contraindications are rare (recent fracture, acute infection, certain active cancers). When in doubt, I refer you to your physician before any care.
How do I book an appointment?+
Online at yohanosteopathytelaviv.co.il/en/rdv, via WhatsApp at 054-700-6437, or by phone. Online bookings are available 24/7.
Can I reschedule my appointment?+
Yes, via the "Cancel my appointment" button in the confirmation email, then by booking a new slot. Or contact me directly. No fees if notified more than 48h in advance.
Can I cancel an appointment?+
Yes, via WhatsApp, phone or email. Fees apply: cancellation less than 7 days before the appointment, 100 ₪; less than 48 hours, full session fee; over 15 minutes late, full session fee. If you're unsure about a slot, please contact us before booking.
Do you accept urgent cases?+
For recent acute pain (locked neck, sudden lower back block), contact me via WhatsApp. I'll try to fit you in quickly depending on my availability.
Do I need a medical prescription?+
No, not for the consultation itself. However, some international supplementary health plans require a prescription from your GP to reimburse care. I provide a detailed invoice with a session report at the end, which is sufficient for your claims.
Is the consultation reimbursed by Israeli kupot or insurance?+
Some French and international supplementary health plans reimburse part or all of the session. To qualify, you usually need a prescription from your GP before the consultation. I provide a detailed invoice with a session report at the end, sufficient for your reimbursement claims.
Which health insurances cover consultations?+
Most private international plans (Cigna, Allianz, April, AXA, MSH…), Israeli supplementary plans from the four kupot, and many French expat insurance plans. A detailed receipt is provided for reimbursement.
In which languages can the consultation take place?+
In French, English or Hebrew, as you prefer.
